Host a
Food Drive
Organizing a food drive is a meaningful way to support neighbors in need. Whether large or small, simple or elaborate, your food drive can make a big difference—and can happen any time of year!
Get Started
1. Get Organized
Start by getting approval from your workplace, school, club, or community group. Gather a few helpers to keep things running smoothly—working as a team makes everything easier and more fun!
2. Get Specific
Decide on:
-
Start and end dates
-
Type of items to collect (non-perishables, hygiene items, etc.) add link to most wanted
-
Drop-off location(s)
3. Spread the Word
Promote your food drive with flyers, emails, social media posts, and word-of-mouth. Be sure to let supporters know that their donations will go directly to Carson Valley Community Food Closet, helping local individuals and families in need.
4. Collect & Monitor
Check your collection bins regularly. Please remove any:
-
Opened packages
-
Damaged or expired food
These cannot be accepted and must be discarded.
5. Deliver the Donations
Bring your collected items to the Food Closet during regular donation hours. If needed, contact us to schedule a special drop-off time.
