Emergency Food Assistance in November

If you are impacted by the current government shutdown and the pause in SNAP benefits, we are here to help.  We completely understand how difficult this situation is, and we’re here to support you.

Here are a few options to get food assistance right away:

• If you need food this weekend, November 1st​

  • ​The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Catholic Charities are holding emergency food distributions at several locations in Reno. Please visit the Food Bank’s website for the schedule and locations.  

• When we reopen:

  • The Food Closet will reopen for food distribution on Monday, November 3rd. When you come in, please let us know you need an emergency fill. At that time, you can also ask to schedule an appointment with our Client Intake Specialist, to continue receiving food on a regular basis.  We have several food programs ​​you may qualify for.  

• Mobile Harvest Distribution:

  The Food Bank of Northern Nevada’s Mobile Harvest will be at our location on Tuesday, November 4th, offering an additional drive-thru food distribution from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm.  For more information click HERE

Please note that we’re closed on Thursdays and closed Friday, October 31st for Nevada Day, but we’ll reopen Monday, November 3rd.
