ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT.

Effective Date: October 01, 2025

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Carson Valley Community Food Closet (CVCFC) is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone in our community.  We strive to make our website, online information, food assistance programs, services, and facilities accessible to individuals with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to access information about food assistance and community resources with dignity, respect, and as few barriers as reasonably possible.

Website Accessibility

We are working to make our website easier to use and accessible to people with a variety of disabilities.

Our goal is to provide a website that can be used with commonly available accessibility tools and technologies, including screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.

We strive to:

  • Use clear and easy-to-understand language.

  • Provide meaningful headings and organized content.

  • Include alternative text for appropriate images.

  • Maintain sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds.

  • Make links and buttons identifiable and understandable.

  • Support keyboard navigation where reasonably possible.

  • Provide accessible forms and online information.

  • Avoid unnecessary barriers to accessing important food assistance information.

Because technology and accessibility standards continue to change, we regularly work to improve the accessibility of our website.

Accessibility of Food Assistance Services

CVCFC is committed to providing food assistance services without discrimination and to making reasonable efforts to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

If you have a disability that makes it difficult to:

Please let us know.   We will work with you to identify a reasonable way to provide access or assistance whenever possible.

You are not required to provide information about your disability in order to report an accessibility problem.

Third-Party Websites

Our website may include links to websites or services operated by third parties, such as donation platforms, event registration systems, social media platforms, government agencies, or community partners.  CVCFC does not control the accessibility of third-party websites. If you experience an accessibility barrier on a third-party website that is linked from our site, we encourage you to contact that provider directly. You may also contact CVCFC and we will make reasonable efforts to help identify an alternative way to access the information or service.

Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process.  CVCFC will continue to review and improve our website, communications, programs, and services as resources, technology, and accessibility practices evolve.  We appreciate feedback from our community and welcome the opportunity to improve access to our services.
