When is Carson Valley Turkey Trot?
As a virtual run for this year, Carson Valley Turkey Trot will take place from Thursday, November 12th – Thanksgiving Day, November 26th. You have two weeks to complete your race.
What is a virtual race?
A virtual race is a race that can be completed anytime and anywhere. Carson Valley Turkey Trot has a race completion time of two weeks (Thursday, November 12th – Thanksgiving Day, November 26th). With a virtual race you can avoid parking problems, crowds, using a sani-hut, bad weather, etc. Running a race on your own time and your own terms gives you the most flexibility. Anyone of any age can participate.

Carson Valley Community Food Closet is a non-profit providing food relief to Douglas County residents in need. You can learn more about the Food Closet HERE.
Douglas Animal Welfare Group is a non-profit group of dedicated volunteers and members who better the lives of Douglas County animals by improving their adoptability, educating the community about responsible pet ownership and other activities that benefit animals, owners and citizens. Registration
How much does the event cost to enter?
Registration is $25 per person. Registration begins August 1, 2020 to November 26, 2020. Register online HERE.
Registration includes:
- Swag bag
- Commemorative event t-shirt
- Race bib
- Medal
- Turkey Trot flare
What if I registered and have suddenly changed my mind or I’m unable to attend the race, can I get a refund?
- Registration Policy – Carson Valley Turkey Trot cannot authorize refunds at any time, NO EXCEPTIONS. If your holiday plans have changed, we will consider your entry as a donation to our event.
- Transfer Policy – You may transfer your race entry to another person up until 10 days prior to event day. Last day to transfer registration is November 18th.

When and where can I pick up my race bib and swag bags?
You can pick up your swag bag and race bib at our early packet pick up (see above).
What do I need to bring with me to pick up my swag bag and race bib?
Please present your registration confirmation email and one form of acceptable photo ID. Your confirmation email is sent at the time of registration.
If you are picking up a packet for a friend or family member, be sure to have a photo of their ID on your phone or a hard copy.

How do I participate?

Can I walk or do I have to run the entire distance?
You can walk, jog, run, or even hike, your choice!
Are there age/division awards?
No, every participant will receive an award in their race packet.
