Host a Food Drive
Get Organized: Get approval from your company, school, social group or place where you plan to hold your event. Gather everyone interested in helping to coordinate the drive. Working as a team is important to keep things efficient and organized.
Get Specific: choose your start and end dates, decide what type of donations you will be accepting, and where you will hold your event.
Advertise: Create flyers, emails and other announcements to let your target audience know what you are doing and how they can help. Be sure to let people know your food drive directly supports Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
Collect: Monitor your collection bins and collect items as they fill. Watch for open or badly damaged food items as these cannot be accepted by the Food Closet and would have to be discarded.
Drop Off: Drop offs can be done during or normal business hours or contact us to coordinate a separate delivery time.
